Eduroam (education roaming) allows users (researchers, teachers, students, staff) to securely access the Internet from any eduroam-enabled institution. You just need to configure your device once using the guide below.
One of the big advantages of eduroam is that you won’t need to go through captive portals to access the network.
You can check where you can connect to eduroam here.
At UAB eduroam is available from all WiFi access points in the campus of Bellaterra and Sabadell, and in Hospital Educational Units. In addition, the Eduroam network is also available in almost every European higher education center in Europe and many in the rest of the world, as well as in the public education network of Catalonia, some airports, etc.
When you have Eduroam properly configured on your devices, you can safely connect to the Internet at any of these places https://monitor.eduroam.org/map'service'loc.php
On your Mac, iOS, Linux, or Windows device, click here and follow the instructions. If you've already set up eduroam and need to update settings you should first delete the current profile.
Remember to update your password if you haven't changed it for a long time to get it back on track, if the password is correct try to stop and reconnect the Wi-Fi and if the problem persists we recommend that you remove the profile and reconfigure it, you have instructions on how to do it here:

If you have an Android device, first install the "eduroam CAT" ap (GÉANT Association) from the Play Store.
Once you have the application installed, you should download the Eduroam configuration client for Eduroam from the followng link:
Then open it with eduroamCAT app and you can install the profile.
NOTE: If you do not let it open directly with the app, you will have to go to the app and open it manually from:
Once you select the file, you will have to choose the "Install" option and then accet the installation.
If everything was done correctly, it will say that the profile is installed correctly and then you will be able to connect to Eduroam
NOTA: These instructions are for higher Android versions to 8. If you have a lower one, please click here
If you have the old app already installed, we recommend you to uninstall it before installing the new one. To install the new one, download it first from Play Store by searching "geteduroam"
Once you installed the app, the first thing it will ask is the institution where you are at. In the search bar write down "Barcelona"
Select the item "Univesitat Autònoma de Barcelona"
Click on "Next" and the app will ask you for your NIU and password. Please fill in the form with the correct format as shown on the image.
Click "Connect to Network".
Then the app will show a message indicating that you are connected correctly.
Now the app will connect you to Eduroam automatically when you are in range.
For start the configuration, we need to access the link "Eduroam autoconfiguration Client" and download the file.
After we download the autoconfiguration file, we need to execute. I will open the Eduroam install wizard, to start the installation we will click on "Next".
It will open a new window where we need to press the button "Ok".
In the next window, we will press the button "Install".
When the installation finish, we can press the button "Finish".
Once installed, we will access the Windows 10 configuration, in the "Network and Internet" section and in the "Manage Known Networks" section.
The network known as "Eduroam®" will need to be deleted, as shown in the image below:
If you get an error saying "Unable to establish connection", we recommend waiting 15 seconds and trying again.
If we have any problem when connecting, we recommend that you review the guide "How do I delete the Eduroam profile on Windows 10?".
First, we will open Windows Start and go to "Settings".
Then we will go to Network & Internet.
Next, in the menu on the left we will click on WiFi and in the options, we will click on "Manage known networks".
We click on the eduroam network and click on "Forget". Once this is done, we will try to install the eduroam profile again.
If we have two profiles installed, we will only delete the one that does not have the small c icon above it, and we will test the connection. If it still gives an error, we will delete both and reinstall the profile.
