What is eduroam?
Eduroam (education roaming) allows users (researchers, teachers, students, staff) to securely access the Internet from any eduroam-enabled institution. You just need to configure your device once using the guide below.
One of the big advantages of eduroam is that you won’t need to go through captive portals to access the network.

Where can I connect to eduroam?
At UAB, eduroam is available from all Wi-Fi access points in the campus of Bellaterra and Sabadell, and in Hospital Educational Units. In addition, the eduroam network is also available in almost every European higher education center in Europe and many in the rest of the world, as well as in the public education network of Catalonia, some airports, etc.

Eduroam does not work for me, but works for other users
Remember to update your password if you haven't changed it for a long time to get it back on track. If the password is correct try to stop and reconnect the Wi-Fi and if the problem persists we recommend that you remove the profile and reconfigure it, you have instructions on how to do it here:
Windows
On Windows 10 or higher versions, how do I configure eduroam?
To start with the configuration, click on the link “eduroam configuration client” and download the file.

Once the file is downloaded, we open it. The eduroam installer will open. To start, click on “Connect to eduroam”.

In the search engine at the top, you will have to search for “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona”, select it, and click on “Next”

Once we selected the university, you will see a screen where we have to accept the terms of use. You will have to select “Next”.

Once connected, it will indicate a message of success as you are connected to eduroam. You need to click “Close” and you should already be connected to the Wi-Fi network.

If you check the Wi-Fi connections, you will see that you are already connected to the network.

I have an older version of Windows, how do I configure eduroam?
For start the configuration, we need to access the link “eduroam autoconfiguration Client” and download the file.

After we download the autoconfiguration file, we need to execute. I will open the eduroam install wizard, to start the installation we will click on “Next”.

It will open a new window where we need to press the button “Ok”.

In the next window, we will press the button “Install”.

When the installation finish, we can press the button “Finish”.

Once installed, we will access the Windows 10 configuration, in the “Network and Internet” section and in the “Manage Known Networks” section.
The network known as “eduroam®” will need to be deleted, as shown in the image below

Once the network is deleted, we will access the available networks and click on the “eduroam” network and validate with our “

If you get an error saying “Unable to establish connection”, we recommend waiting 15 seconds and trying again.

Android
On Android, how do I configure eduroam?
If you have the old application installed (eduroam CAT), you must first uninstall it, then install the newer one: geteduroam
Once installed, we open it and it will ask what's your university.
If we write “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona” or “Barcelona” it will show the following:

Click over “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona” and you will be prompted with the terms and conditions of this network. Click “Agree” to proceed.

Then, you will be asked to log in with your university credentials:

Once we click “Log in”, a pop-up will appear asking to save the network. Click on “Save”.

Once saved, you can close the application and connect to the eduroam network.

On versions below Android 8, how do I configure eduroam?
If you have an Android device, first install the “eduroam CAT” app (GÉANT Association) from the Play Store.

Once you have the application installed, you should download the eduroam configuration client for eduroam from the following link:
“eduroam Autoconfiguration Client”
Then open it with eduroamCAT app and you can install the profile.

NOTE: If you do not let it open directly with the app, you will have to go to the app and open it manually from:

Once you select the file, you will have to choose the “Install” option and then accept the installation.

If everything was done correctly, it will say that the profile is installed correctly, and then you will be able to connect to eduroam.

Apple
On iOS devices, how can i connect to eduroam?
First, download “geteduroam” application on Apple Store.
Once installed, open it, and you will be asked to write your university on the top search bar.
Write “Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona” or “Barcelona” and you will see your university:

A pop-up will appear asking to accept the Terms of Use of the network:

Then, you will be prompted to log in:

Lastly, it will ask to add the network to the settings and if you want to connect to it.


On Mac devices, how can I connect to eduroam?
To start the configuration, first click on the link “eduroam autoconfiguration client” and download the file by clicking the “eduroam” button:

Once downloaded, click on the .dmg file:

A notification popup will show, meaning that the program is running correctly:

Next, we need to access “System settings” and go to “Privacy and Security”, then “Profiles” at the bottom.

Here you will find the eduroam profile ready to be installed. Double-click on it, and you will see a window with the confirmation to install it.

As a last step to install the profile, you will need to accept the network policies:

How do I delete my preferred network on MAC?
1. Go to the top right and click on the Wi-Fi icon, then click on “Network Preferences”.

2. Select the “Wi-Fi” network and click on “Advanced”.

3. Select the eduroam network and click on the “-” button

How do I delete the Eduroam profile on MAC?
Go to the left corner and click the apple icon, “System Preferences” and then “Profiles”.

2. Select the eduroam profile and click on the minus symbol “-”.

3. Select the “Remove”.

How do I delete the Eduroam profile on iOS?
- Go to “Settings”
- Click on “General”
- Select the eduroam profile under “Profile”
- Click on “Remove Profile”
- Finally, confirm that you want to remove this profile.
